I Wish I Had 12 Extra Hours Per Kid — But What I Actually Needed Was Space

I Wish I Had 12 Extra Hours Per Kid...

As a mama of three (plus a husband 😉), I’ve said this countless times:

“I wish I could get 12 extra hours per kid!”

Because managing everyone’s schedule — school, meals, activities, emotions —is completely different from managing your own.

It’s not even the same sport.

For years, I kept wishing for more time.

But then I realized (VERY RECENTLY, actually)…

it wasn’t time I was missing.

It was space.

🕊️ Mental space — to think and breathe.
💗 Emotional space — to feel without rushing.
💨 Physical space — inside my body, to move freely.
🌸 Spiritual space — to reconnect with myself.

The truth is, the more kids you have,
the more space you need — because you’re constantly giving parts of yourself away.

But creating space doesn’t require an extra 12 hours.

It only asks for 1% of your day — about 15 minutes — to come back to yourself.

When I started giving myself those 15 minutes, things began to shift.

Not overnight, but gently, quietly.

I began to feel lighter.
My breathing softened.
Even my thoughts moved slower.

That’s when I understood:

You don’t have to add more.
You just have to use what you already have.

Your body already holds the wisdom you need to feel at peace.
Your breath already knows how to guide you home.

So instead of asking for 12 more hours per kid,
I now ask for 15 minutes — for me.

Slowly but surely, that’s enough.
