Imagine you're wearing a giant fluffy costume.
Not your body.
A costume.
Now imagine gently moving around inside it.
Wiggling.
Breathing.
Shifting your weight.
Little by little, space starts to appear between you and the costume.
The fabric doesn't change.
You don't become stronger.
You don't force anything.
But suddenly everything feels a little easier.
Sometimes I think unwinding the body feels a lot like that.
When something feels tight, sore, or stiff, our first instinct is often:
Stretch harder
Strengthen more
Work harder
Push through
Sometimes those things are helpful.
But sometimes the body isn't asking for more effort.
Sometimes it's asking for more space.
Have you ever had a day where:
Your shoulders feel heavy
Your hips feel tight
Your lower back feels stiff
Your body feels tired even though you've rested
Many people immediately assume they need to become stronger or more flexible.
But what if the problem isn't strength or flexibility?
What if things simply aren't moving and gliding as smoothly as they could?
Imagine that fluffy costume again.
If it gets twisted, compressed, or stuck in places, movement becomes harder.
Not because you're weak.
Not because you're broken.
But because there isn't enough space for everything to move freely.
This is one of the biggest shifts I've experienced in my own body and in the people I work with.
Instead of asking:
"How can I make my body work harder?"
We start asking:
"How can I make movement easier?"
Sometimes a small amount of the right movement can create surprisingly big changes.
People often tell me:
Walking feels lighter
Breathing feels easier
Their body feels less compressed
They feel taller
They move with less effort
Not because we forced the body to change.
But because we created conditions that allowed the body to organize itself differently.
Your body is constantly adapting.
It is always searching for efficiency.
Sometimes it doesn't need another exercise.
Sometimes it simply needs an opportunity to let go of what is no longer necessary.
To create a little more room.
A little more flow.
A little more ease.
What if your body doesn't need more effort?
What if it needs a little more room inside the suit?
My exploration continues. 🙂
